DESCRIPTION:The EOSC Association’s 8th General Assembly will be a lunch-to-lunch\, in-person meeting to be held 27-28 May 2024. The meeting will be held in Leuven\, Belgium.\nRegistration is closed. \n\nDownload draft agenda (24 May)\nDirections to venues for participants\n\nLocation\nIrish College Leuven\, courtesy of Meet in Flanders\nThe General Assembly meeting will be held at Irish College Leuven\, which is a 5-minute walk from the Leuven historic centre\, and a 25-minute walk from the Leuven train station. \nLeuven can be reached in 15 minutes via a direct train from the Brussels national airport (BRU). SUMMARY:Advancing Data Exchange Innovations in FAIR Data Spaces | Second Open Call
DESCRIPTION:Overview: \nThe FAIR Data Spaces project\, coordinated by Fraunhofer\, is at the forefront of integrating services from Gaia-X\, International Data Spaces (IDS)\, the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI)\, and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The project has already launched several demonstrators (see Technical Foundations)\, showcasing its practical applications in areas such as biodiversity\, research data quality assurance\, and cross-platform data analysis. To further explore new areas\, the first open call was released inviting companies to develop innovative data exchange scenarios between industry and academia. This call announced three research and development contracts\, each funded with a budget of €60\,000. Fraunhofer is set to announce a second round soon\, continuing with the same overall budget of €180\,000. \n  \nObjective of the Webinar: \nThis webinar will introduce the upcoming second round of the FAIR Data Spaces project’s open call. Ideal for existing partners and new participants\, this session aims to enhance understanding of the project’s scope and to streamline the submission process for new tenders. Attendees will gain insights into the project’s achievements and learn about the expectations for upcoming submissions\, including opportunities for creating new demonstrators. \n  \nKey Discussion Points: \n\nIntroduction to the FAIR Data Spaces project and its significance in the current research and industry landscape.\nOverview of the developed demonstrators and an explanation of the expectations and requirements for the second round of tenders\, including potential areas for new demonstrators and improvements.\nOpen discussion for feedback from participants to understand their perspectives and expectations\, ensuring the upcoming tender aligns with the needs and capabilities of the community.\n\nTarget Audience: \nThis webinar is tailored for companies and organizations across various sectors looking to deepen their engagement with advanced data management approaches\, as well as those already involved in data exchange projects and initiatives.
