SUMMARY:Open day for the launch of the OSCARS Open Call for Open Science Projects

DESCRIPTION:The objective of the EOSC-ENTRUST project is to create a European network of trusted research environments for sensitive data and to drive European interoperability by joint development of a common blueprint for federated data access and analysis.\nThis blueprint for interoperability is anchored in the EOSC Interoperability Framework spanning the four dimensions of Legal\, Organisational\, Technical and Semantic interoperability. \nEOSC-ENTRUST has identified four driver projects covering Genomics\, Clinical trials\, Social science\, and public-private partnerships to benchmark capabilities\, inform blueprint design and demonstrate secure data analysis using federated workflows. \nThe objectives of EOSC-ENTRUST are: \n\nCreate a European network of Trusted Research Environments\, linked to EOSC and EuroHPC\, to enable transnational collaborative research on sensitive or restricted data.\nTrusted Research Environment providers implement\, validate\, and promote their capabilities through a European framework using common standards and shared legal\, operational and technical language.\nNational funders and governments understand the network of TRE capabilities serving their needs\, and how TREs support their national priorities and their contributions to selected transnational programmes.\nThe European Network of Trusted Research Environments (ENTRUST) is embedded in the European Open Science Cloud and the European Data Spaces and fosters an ecosystem of public\, private and joint-venture providers of TRE services.\n\nThe starting date is 1 March 2024\, coordinated by ELIXIR/ European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) with a total budget of 4M.

SUMMARY:International FAIR Digital Objects Implementation Summit
DESCRIPTION:After a successful 1st International FAIR Digital Object (FDO) Conference in Leiden\, the FDO Forum will host an FDO Implementation Summit in March 2024 in Berlin\, Germany.  The venue of this Implementation summit is the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin\, Leibniz Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Science\, right in the city centre of the German capital. \nThis FAIR Digital Object Implementation Summit aims to bring together experts from all over the world who are planning and developing FDO implementations (data scientists\, data infrastructure architects\, data solution developers\, data stewards\, data curators\, industry data experts\, and policy makers). There will be exchange formats to foster interactions including early career professionals. Presentations and lightning talks from data scientists and developers engaged in Fair Digital Object activities will give deeper insights into FDO concepts and implementation. \nA call for papers will open on the 15th of October 2023. The summit will be preceded by training courses and a newcomers session. The number of participants is limited and online interaction facilities will be offered. \nThe registration will open in November 2023.

DESCRIPTION:The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a pioneering initiative that aims to create an inclusive and open space for the exchange and use of research data in Europe.\nThree free EOSC Coffee Lectures from the ZBW provide clarity about what the EOSC is and what it is not\, present the current status and relevant developments in the context of the EOSC and show how you can get involved in the activities of the EOSC. \nThe EOSC Coffee Lectures invite everyone who deals with research data in their scientific work or is involved in the implementation and operation of research data infrastructures. \nThe Coffee Lectures are given by Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochterman. Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochtermann is\, among other things\, a member of the Board of Directors of the EOSC Association (EOSC-A) and is also involved in several NFDI consortia and a member of the NFDI Senate. \nContents: \n\nSignificance of German participation in EOSC developments\nOpportunities to participate in the EOSC\nOutlook on relevant activities and events in 2024\n\nPlease note that the webinar will be held in German.
